Piro Quality Recall (Lot #EF-24)
1. Which bottles are affected?
Only bottles of Piro Extra Virgin Olive Oil shipped between July 15th and August 20th, 2025, with lot number EF-24, are included in this recall.
2. How can I check if my bottle is from this lot?
The lot number (EF-24) is printed on the back label near the nutrition panel.
3. Is the oil safe to consume?
Yes. The oil is safe to eat. However, it does not meet the prestigious, award-winning flavor profile that defines Piro—fresh, fruity, with balanced bitterness and pepperiness. For this reason, we are offering replacements.
4. What should I look for in the taste so I know my bottle is affected?
Your oil should taste fresh and delicious, with perfectly balanced fruitiness, bitterness, and pepperiness. If the taste is unbalanced—more bitter and peppery than fruity—your bottle was affected, and we would like to replace it.
5. What if I am not sure my bottle is affected?
If you are uncertain whether your bottle is part of this lot, we will replace it for you regardless.
6. What should I do if I have an affected bottle?
If your bottle matches lot EF24 and it exhibits unbalanced bitterness and pepperiness, please contact us. We will arrange an immediate replacement at no cost.
7. What is the cause of the problem?
We suspect the unusual summer heat may have affected a portion of our inventory during transit. Piro is a 100% natural product with zero preservatives, which makes it both extraordinary in quality and more delicate to environmental conditions.
8. Do I need to return my bottles?
Yes. We ask to receive the bottles back for testing. We will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label, and you can use the shipping box from your replacement bottles to return them easily.
9. What if I send back bottles that are not actually affected but I just wasn’t sure?
Not to worry. The test results of the returned bottles will not be linked to any customer. Our goal is always your 100% satisfaction.
10. What if one or more of my bottles are opened?
We will take back and replace opened bottles, no matter how empty they may be.
11. What if I purchased multiple bottles from this lot?
We will replace all bottles from your order.
12. How soon will I receive my replacement?
Replacements will be shipped as soon as we confirm your request. We will not wait for the return of your affected bottle(s) before sending your replacement.
13. Will this issue happen again?
We take quality with the utmost seriousness. This recall is a precaution to ensure that every bottle of Piro reflects our uncompromising commitment to excellence. As we adapt our infrastructure to new climate conditions, we are also reinforcing our tasting controls to prevent recurrence.
