This year, Piro was honored to support four chefs from the Eleven Madison Park team as they took on the New York City Marathon in support of Rethink Food — a remarkable organization committed to building lasting change in how communities access nourishment.

Rethink Food works to ensure that everyone has access to nutritious, culturally celebrated meals. Their model empowers local kitchens, strengthens food systems, and directs resources where they are needed most. It is work rooted in dignity, community, and shared responsibility — values we deeply align with.

Running the marathon is a feat of discipline, endurance, and heart. For chefs, whose lives are shaped by long hours and precise craft, the commitment is even more profound. We were proud to stand behind Stefano Casale, Andrea Ruiz, Mattia Rancati and Davide Peli — chefs whose daily work feeds others, and who carried that same spirit of care and purpose across 26.2 miles.

To support their effort, we sent a small care package for the marathon — essentials for the run, along with bottles of Piro and Cucino. A simple gesture of encouragement and connection from our kitchen to theirs.

The New York City Marathon is more than a race. It brings together a city, its communities, and its stories. To see culinary talent from one of the world’s most recognized kitchens dedicated not only to excellence in craft, but also to the wellbeing of others, is something extraordinary.
